Mark Your Calendar—The Time Is Fast Approaching for a Flu Shot!
Even though flu season doesn’t peak until around November, it’s not too early to receive a flu shot. Mark your calendars to come see us and receive a flu vaccine—and be sure to bring your family!
Why a Flu Shot?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), millions of people living in the United States are sickened, hundreds of thousands are hospitalized, and thousands or tens of thousands of people die from flu every year. If you or a loved one have suffered from the flu, you understand the importance of protecting yourself from the illness with a flu shot.
Also known as “influenza,” the many un-fun symptoms include—but are not limited to—muscle pain, dry cough, chills, dehydration, fatigue, fever, sweating, nasal congestion, sneezing, headache, nausea, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes and chest discomfort. As you can see, the flu is in no way a walk in the park. Therefore, it’s important to protect yourself from this very contagious condition!
The CDC recommends everyone 6 months of age and older obtain a flu vaccine every season. We usually receive our flu vaccines around October, so make a plan to visit our urgent care facility around that time to obtain a flu shot and protect you and your family from flu season this year. No appointment necessary!
