Parent Versus Sick Child | AFC Urgent Care Memphis
Dealing with a sick little one can be scary, but our team at AFC Urgent Care Memphis has some suggestions to make it easier. If you’re home with a sick child and these tips don’t work, we’re open seven days a week for extended hours to help!
The Sore Throat
Frozen fruit pops and popsicles make excellent treats when trying to help ease your child’s sore throat. They also have an added benefit—they’ll help keep your child hydrated while he or she is fighting off sickness.
The Congestion
If your child’s nose is stuffy and he or she is having a hard time resting, try creating a steam bath to help loosen some of your child’s congestion. Your child doesn’t have to be “in” the bath. All you need to do is turn on the hot water in the shower and close the door to produce steam. Then, sit with your child on the floor, playing a game or reading a book, so that he or she has a few minutes of breathing in the steam to help alleviate some of the congestion.
If a sore throat doesn’t relieve itself or an ache only grows worse, visit AFC Urgent Care Memphis for additional care.
