Healthy Resolutions for the New Year
Are you ready to get your health, as well as your family’s health, back on the right track? There is no better time than today to start!
Get Active
Are you guilty of making it all work and no exercise most days of the week? That habit can have harmful effects on both your physical and mental health.
Aim to get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on most days of the week. You don’t have to do the same thing every time, though. Try something new!
For instance, you could take a yoga class, go for a hike with the family or even play soccer in the backyard. You just want to make sure you and your family are moving and getting your heart rate up each day!
Drink Plenty of Water
If you had to choose a beverage to drink right now, what would it be? Soda? Juice?
How about trying to make water your beverage of choice more often than not throughout the day?
Water not only helps to keep your body hydrated, but it also keeps the entire body functioning optimally, without the added sugar and calories that other drinks often contain.
Eat Those Veggies
We know—the colder weather of winter just seems to call for filling up your plate with comfort foods. And vegetables don’t often make the list!
However, you can still find comfort this winter in eating your vegetables every day. Look for fun and new recipes that incorporate unfamiliar or favorite flavors. Or add veggies into family comfort foods, like spaghetti or mac and cheese.
